      Hi there,

is there an easy way to give AA TRX Codes Access to a user without going through each TRX dimension?
I mark all under distribute and adjust but I still have to save and scroll through each TRX Dimension code.

      TIA
      🙂

      Good Morning ,

There are three options I can think of:

1.) If you want ALL users to have access to ALL dimensions, you can simply uncheck the box in your window that says “Restrict User Access”.  That will override whatever individual security settings you have by dimension and give all users (with access to AA) access to the dimensions.

2.) You could do something in SQL – a stored procedure or trigger of some kind – to run it on the back end, but that would take a bit more refining of the “ask” here to make sure the procedure or trigger did exactly what you wanted and not more.

3.) GP 2018 introduces a new button on the window you’re displaying that allows you to copy AA access from one user to another.  Do you happen to know what version of GP you’re on?  If you’re on GP 2018 or newer and still don’t see it, you might look into whether your security’s been adjusted or the form’s been adjusted to hide the button.

Does that make sense?  If there’s anything else, just let us know.

      Thanks,

      Samantha

      Thank you Samantha!

We’re on GP 2016 and unfortunately I don’t have the button you suggested. We have to restrict user’s access but I’ll try to work something in SQL.
      I’ll keep you posted.

      I appreciate the help!

There is. I’ve attached a trigger that can automatically assign new dimensions to users.

Charles, thank you so much for your response!

We tried and completed successfully but it didn’t change anything. Do we need to change the aaTrxDimID and TrxDimCodeID as well?
