One of the four speakers we had at our inaugural GPUG Green Bay Chapter meeting was Michael Porreca of Tribridge. His presentation was on Power BI (his two PowerPoint presentations [in PDF form] are on the Green Bay Library page)… a reprise of his popular presentation at GPUG Summit in Tampa.
I printed it out on our company plotter so that it’s poster-sized. It lists 13 of the most useful Chart Types in Power BI and where they’re best used. That is, each Chart Type is graded based on 5 information presentation types:
Categorical Comparison
Values Over Time
Correlation
Measures Only / KPI
Geographical
