      Greetings,

In GP 2016 r2, When an employee changes their retirement plan (401k) deductions from x% to 0% and this is done in the HR module, it does not except th0% and update the employee card deductions.  Only way to accomplish this I am told is to put an end date (they are still in the plan!) or do it on the card and deal with the reconcile.  Anyone have a better solution?

      Thanks and regards,

      Mark

      Hi Mark,

I haven’t played with this yet in that particular version, but when you are in the HR Enrollment screen, if it does not push you over to the Payroll side when you save the contribution percentage change, you can use the Benefits GoTo >Payroll at the top of the screen to shortcut over to the Payroll Deduction window to update it there.

If this option is not available for your user, you may need to unmark the “Automatically update Benefits in PR” option in the HR Benefits preferences, and then be sure your GP Users are marked to have the Payroll View in the User Setup window.

      Thanks Sherlene,

I would think that the HR module would take into account that some people go from x%, to 0%, then back to x%…. or that there would be a way to allow this.  Clearly putting an end date on the retirement code then start up when they resume retirement deductions is not correct technically either.  I have not seen this community stumped before, is there a prize? Perhaps it is too obtuse or just a bug.

      Best regards,
      Mark
