We had someone, whose 401k deduction, was set with a calendar year limit of $20,500. (This year’s limit), but when the last payroll of the year was processed, it capped the deduction at $19,500 instead. What would cause this to stop early? And, by chance the prior year’s limit.
From the reports, the build report does shows the deduction for this employee, at a 12% level, but roughly 4% came out, to come to the $19,500 figure.
We don’t have anyone else who has met the limit this year, so can’t really compare to others. The $20,500 calendar year limit was rolled down by a change in early 2022 to the deduction set up.
Let me know if you have any thoughts as to why it would do this.
