Is there something that can be done, to keep a blank line from showing on Part III of the 1095-C when a dependent is deleted?  I have adjusted these at the edit W-2 Side to remove, but was wondering if there was something different that could be done to prevent it from showing up, to begin with.

Thanks for posting this Pamela, I tested it and can replicate what you are saying.  I’m thinking many do not actually “delete” dependent records as we have not run into this too much.
What is happening when you delete the dependent record it removes it from the dependent table UPR00111, but if there were ACA history tracking records, it is leaving these in the UPR00904 table which then causes this problem.

I did run this script by employee ID and it clears up all the problems, but it does delete all ACA records for that dependent.

DELETE UPR00904 WHERE SEQNUMBR NOT IN (SELECT SEQNUMBR FROM UPR00111) and EMPLOYID=’ACKE0001′

You can sure test it out with one of your employees as well to.  I would just fix by employee if you can as seqnumber could be unique and shared by other employee ID combination so then you delete more than you expect.

I will write this up so in the future when items are deleted, we remove the ACA information too, so we do not have stranded data out there.

      Thanks

Thanks for your help.  We had a spouse, who had passed away a couple years ago, and did not want her name showing on his 1095-C.  Easy enough to delete after the fact, but you just have to do the same ones every year.

I’ll go through the list I changed, and try this.

      Thanks,

      Pam
