      Hi All,

I recently purchased a new desktop computer with Windows 10 Professional.  I installed AX 2012 CU8 onto the computer and the client functions fine until I try to open a node on the AOT.  It goes into a “Not Responding” state and consumes massive amounts of memory until it closes.  I have tried to update the kernel to the current releases.  Has anyone got the developer tools to function properly using Windows 10 as the OS and if so, would you please share how you accomplished the task?

Thank you for your time and any assistance.

We are on 2012 R2 CU6 (which isn’t officially supported on Windows 10) and have no trouble with the developer environment.

The only problem we have run into is occasional random crashes of the client on some machines.

      Daniel,

Would you or someone on your team mind sharing your install process so that I can see if there is something that I did incorrectly that is causing my issues?  Please feel free to respond directly to my e-mail address.

      Anthony

We don’t have a special procedure.  We install it from the installation source using Setup.exe, either manually or in an automated fashion using command line arguments, like this:

      setup.exe HideUI=1 AcceptLicenseTerms=1 InstallClientUI=1  ClientAOSServer=<server> AOSPort=2712 AOSWsdlPort=8101 ClientLanguage=en-us CreateClientDesktopShortcut=1 ConfigurePrerequisites=1 InstallRetailHQ=1

Where <server> is the AOS server name.

Have you reported the problem to Microsoft via your AX partner?

      Anthony,
Is your new computer a Dell? I recall having similar issues when I received my computer, and it was from Dell security programs that were installed from the factory.
      Hope that helps you.

      James,

That thought is helpful.  Do you remember which security settings that were modified in order to get it to work?
