We’re investigating alternatives to see if we can use Project Categories in for utility we currently achieve with function code in the system we are retiring. We’re very close, but are running into a stumbling block.

Setting up a Sales Price (Hour), there’s a hierarchy: a worker specific rate, overrides a rate assigned to a Project Category. We do calculations to establish hourly billing rates that eliminate certain function codes (e.g., 60) essentially allowing staff to charge time to a function code, but those hours have a Sales Price of $0.

In AX, this logic will work if there’s a way that we can have Project Category that has been assigned a Sales Price, override rates assigned to workers. In other words, flip the sequence AX looks at the hierarchical logic. WonderingĀ if there’s a straightforward way to make that change.

      Try setting up 2 lines:
      one for worker only
      one for worker AND category

The second is supposed to override the price of the first

      Hi,

I think the only way you are going to achieve this is if you set up that project category for every worker šŸ™ When you use an “All” option, that’s when the “Table” options will take preference. So you will need to use Table as below:
