I have a user that gets into the sales & marketing > journals > Price/Discount Agreement journal.
opens the lines, marks the lines they want to change and then uses [Edit in Excel]

They then makes the price changes – but when they try to publish them back into AX gets the following error:

“User ‘Joe.smith’ is not authorized to select a record in table ‘RetailCatalogPriceGroup’. Request denied.Cannot select a record in Catalog price groups (RetailCatalogPriceGroup).”

What would be causing this error and how would I fix it (other than making them SysAdmins)

Not sure why it would be throwing that error since they are only changing a couple prices, not creating a new PriceGroup.

As SysAdmin, I have no problem making changes – and I see it is using PriceDiscAdmTransService when I do publish.  Do I only need to add a Privilege to access that service?  I thought when a user doesn’t have security for a service it says they don’t have security for accessing a class, not a table.

If someone could point me in the direction I need to go – it would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi Dan,

Indeed ensure the user has access to the service with a correct privilege/duty. The service operations do have a permissions node with table permissions. You can also do some table access overrides on the security role level.
