I would like to be able to automatically post project invoices using the periodic function on a recurring batch schedule, but in my testing I see that the selection criteria I have provided is not being reevaluated on each iteration of the batch job. Ā When I view parameters, the same list of invoice proposals is there every time. Ā And of course because they were already posted the first time the job ran, the subsequent jobs do nothing.

I know with posting sales invoices in batch there is a choice for ‘late selection’ that allows the job to delay executing the selection criteria until ‘later’, which I guess that means when each iteration of the job runs. Ā We are using this sales invoice posting method extensively in our operation now.

Does anyone know of a way to get the ‘late selection’ type of effect for the project invoice posting periodic function so we can use it on a recurring batch schedule?

      Hi Lynn,
So not 100% the same, but I did recently run into a very similar situation for sales order invoicing whereĀ  AX wasn’t re-evaluating which sales orders to invoice based on what had been shipped (packing slip updated) if we ran it on batch.Ā  We found that we had to do a small-ish modification toĀ achieve this.Ā  I would bet my hat that it’s the same for project invoicing.Ā  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Thanks for your response. Ā Were you using “late selection” on the sales invoicing selection screen when you had this problem?

I wanted to give an update. Ā  We are in the process of upgrading to CU12, and the “late selection” option is now available on the project invoice proposal screen! Ā I do not know which KB introduced this feature but I am very happy. I am in the process of testing it out now.
