Here at Dynamics Resources we specialize in Dynamics 365, all versions of AX, and CRM. I ran your question by one of my experts, and he wanted me to ask you whichĀ route is the user working on?

Are you talking about this : Company/Human resources/Common/Organization/Positions/Position hierarchy or something else?

      Michael,

That is the route I’m talking about.Ā  Company/Human resources/Common/Organization/Positions/Position hierarchy.
How do we define a ‘dotted line’ and have it show in the diagram?

      Thanks

Each position in your organization should have one primary (line) reporting relationship with another position. However, sometimes, such as when an organization uses a matrix organizational structure, positions might also have a secondary (dotted-line) reporting relationship with another position.
To create dotted-line relationships for positions, you must first create additional position hierarchy types.

      Michael,

Appreciate the your help and the link.Ā  We have two hierarchies – ‘Line’ and ‘Quality’.Ā  There are positions that report to production supervisors that also have dotted line to quality.Ā  We have them set up in ‘Line’ and also added a relationship to ‘Quality’.Ā  In the position hierarchy diagram, they display in each hierarchy.Ā  Is there a way to see the dotted line relationship to ‘Quality’ from the ‘Line’ perspective?

      Thanks.
