Physical Inventory by Inventory dimension report is incorrect for past dates

    Physical Inventory by Inventory dimension report is incorrect for past dates

    When running this report for past dates, the report does not provide accurate results.

    Example

    2/25/2025 there were 10 units in location 5

    3/1/2025 5 units are moved to location 6

    3/5/2025 5 units are sold from location 5

    3/31/2025 inventory is closed, this cleans up the InventSum table.

    4/1/2025 run the Physical inventory by inventory dimension report with a date of 2/28/2025

    The report will look at the current inventory, 5 in location 6. Look back using inventory transactions and see what was in location 6 as of 2/28/25 and return a quantity of 0.

    We have had numerous conversations with MS over this and they maintain this is a limitation of the report and not a bug.

    Has anyone else run into this issue? What was your response from MS?
