I need to hit a read onlyĀ field in the AOT with an import and cannot access it.Ā In AX 2012 we could change the field in AOT to make it editable.Ā Is this Possible in D365 F&O?
From what I can see you cannot change the “Allow edit” property from an extension.Ā You could add a virtual field to your entity, import the value to that virtual field and change the read-only field with X++, that would bypass the validation.
Steeve is correct, you could do this in AX 2012 because Microsoft allowed for overlayering. Now that only extensions can be used, you cannot modify the out of box properties you can only add additional items/objects to them.
