      Hi all!!!

We are running AX 2012 RTM.

We are wondering if AX has functionality which allows HR to ‘stage’ organizational changes pending a certain date/time.

For example: Ā on January 1, 2018 there may be changes to titles, positions, addresses, etc. Ā Some titles, positions may be existing, some may need to be created.

We know we can create a job/script to process all these changes at once…but we are wondering if there is AX functionality which allows for changes to be made in advance (and waiting) until a formal date/time.

      Thanks in advance.

      Hi Lori

It’s been a while since I looked at an RTM environment, but it’s definitely possible in later releases of 2012, for some fields. Have a look on the ribbon in the positions list page – if you see a ‘maintain versions’ button, that’s where you can make and adjust date effective changes. This button is also available for workers and jobs. Not all the related tables are date effective, so not all the fields can be maintained in this way, but it’s a good starting point.

      Positions and dates

Hope that helps, but if you need any more info just shout!

      Tom
