      Hi All,
How many digits does AX allow for the Chart of Account? Is it 12 or 14 digits? Thanks

      Hi Kim,

This is a setup feature in System Admin where you define the number of digits you need to use.
In our AX 2009, we utilized 25 digits with 4 segments in it since we did not use the FDs.

      Thanks.

      Hello Kim,
If you are talking about the Main Account ID in AX 2012, it allows for 20 characters out of the box.  I can look up other fields if you are interested.

      Regards,
      Dag III

      Kim:

This setting is indeed out of the box at 20 characters but you can set it to the desired user preference using System Administration – Setup – System – Modify data types.  Set the account number length as you desire.

      Hope this helps.
