We are having an issue where our sales orders are being netted against all loaded demand instead of just the netting sequence we have defined (Current, Last, Next). We use actual sales and transfer orders to satisfy demand and do not use a reduction key.

The issue was narrowed down to the to/from dates associated on the Sub-Models that are defined within the forecast model. We are unable to remove the forecasting period dates within the sub-model and receive this error message “Period start and period end dates are required for sub-models when forecast netting is enabled on the parent model.”

We import the forecast in 12 month buckets broken out by forecast channel. Each channel is uploaded to a specific sub-model, is this necessary? Should we upload them all to the Top level model?

Example: For the item below the netting sequence is set to Current, Last, Next but as you can see there is netted demand in December already.Ā

      Any help would be appreciated!

      Hi Deanna,

Looks to me like that Forecast netting thing you have there is not standard Dynamics AX. Probably you have a 3rd-party add-on, or custom development there. If the former, I hope other users of the product will recognise it and chip in here, but you may have to contact the provider’s support desk.

Thank you Guy. Now that I have been able to confirm this isn’t an out of the box feature for AX, I will reach out to our partner to dig into this deeper.

      Appreciate your time.

Hi Deanna, I dont see the Forecast netting parameters you have in Forecast models or Master planning parameters and have never seen them before. Are you using a third party solution or add-on product that sits on top of Master planning? This does not appear to be standard AX2012 functionality it is referring to.

Hi Andrew, I was fairly certain this was an issue with customization’s we had built in, but wanted to reach out to the community to see if I missed something simple. It can be difficult spotting where the customizations are since they were built before I joined the team.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this!
