Fixed Asset Continuity Schedule report
Posted by Zvika Rimalt on December 10, 2018 at 1:45 pm-
We are asked to periodically generate from D365 a sort of fixed asset summary report, that lists all assets/books, and for each one specify acquisition date and amount, total depreciation, total adjustments, and net book value etc.
Is there an out of the box report giving that information?

Hi Zvika
For my clients I typically use the Fixed Asset Roll Forward report. In order to use this report you will need to import the Format Mapping from the electronic reports database.Ā
This is for D365 only, I do not know if there is something similar in 2012.Ā
Thanks,

Hi Arush
Please can you share the screen shot and the process in 365 for FA reports
Since we areĀ on AX 2012 R3, dont have roll forward and manually done on excel
Thanks and best regards

Thanks Arush, I managed to download the report and it looks like it has many of the fields we need in the report.
Did you find yourself modifying the electronic format? any recommendation for an online resource/tutorial on how to make changes?

Hi Zvika
I have not modified it, I’m a functional resource so if I needed it modified I would just write it up and send the changes to a develop š
For what it’s worth one of my clients needed changes and I recommended they just export to Excel and use Macros, that seemed the easiest approach.ĀHi NazimĀ
In order to add the format follow the following steps
1. Go to the Electronic Reporting workspace
2. Under Configuration Provides there should be a Microsoft tab, click the Repositories button
3. In this case go to Add -> LCS
4. Once the LCS repository is added select it and click Open
5. This will open up the full list of reports available. In the Configuration Name search for “Fixed Asset roll forward”
6. Select this report and in the Versions section at the bottom click Import.Ā
Once this is done the format should be available in the format drop down in the report.Ā
Hope this helps!

thanks Arush
Apparently (I have not tried it yourself) one can modify these reports through a type of configuration that can be done by functional resources as well.
Personally I have not run into anyone who has actually done it themselves but this is how Microsoft was presenting the tool in conferences.Thank you very much for your suggestion of the Roll Forward report, the users loved it and are planning to use it.

Hi Zvika
It was my pleasure, I will see if I can find some tutorials on configuring these reports when I get some free time. That would be a cool thing to know.
Take care,
