We do have a customer which would like to replace their Excel driven demand forecasting with a more robust system. This customer is using Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. They do have one retail store with around 1000 SKUs. A solution like Slimstock is a very good match, but far too expensive for the size of this organization. I have seen the next document and it looks impressive, but it is stated that it woud probably not suitable for retail organizations. However it is possible to customize it:Ā https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/supply-chain/master-planning/introduction-demand-forecasting
I wonder if anyone has experiences with demand forecasting in a retail organization. I would like to hear about experiences with the standard D365 solution, ISV solutions or even third party products. This customer would like to have one overview and option to create both purchase orders (if central warehouse would run out of stock for a certain period) and transfer orders if the store is running out of stock. They are also open for new and better ideas as long as they can order in time based on criteria like forecasted sales and delivery lead time.Ā
If you have experiences, ideas or questions, all comments are welcome. Thanks in advance!
