      Hi All,

Since implementing AX 2012 R3 we have encountered several Sales Orders that have been deleted in error after they’ve invoiced. This is a user error that has since been corrected, however we’re trying to determine if we can reinstate the deleted SOs how will it impact all the ledgers it touches? At this point it appears to not impact any of the subledgers nor the general ledger aside from just disappearing from the All Sales Order inquiry. Has anyone else encountered this? Or knows the impact if we were to reinstate the SOs?

      Thanks,

      Kelley

      Hi Kelley,
We also have run into this problem from time to time.  It is nice that you can view the deleted orders under the Sales and Marketing module under Inquiries–History–Sales Orders–Deleted orders. There is not a way (that I know of) to reinstate the order but you can view it so you can just enter it again.  As long as nothing was done with the order before it was deleted you shouldn’t have any issues with the GL.

      All,

Our partner pointed out two things:
      – The AR parameter that prevents users deleting invoiced orders
      – This article (and I found that the suggested solution works as-is in AX 2012 R3!):
How to Restore deleted sales order or purchase order – Microsoft Dynamics AX Community.

Before we run this job in PROD, Kelley wants to test the effects, if any, on the ledger.  Looks like she’s gotten a couple of helpful responses already, but if anyone else can help with this part in particular, that’d be great!

      Thanks,

      Carolee

      Hi Kelley,

We can do setup for lock the invoiced SO’s in AX2012.

If we delete the invoiced SO’s, it will delete only the Sales transaction details and not the posted ledger data. As you said, it will disappear in SO Inquiry form. But you can get the invoice details.

we can reinstate the deleted SO’s and it will take some R&D work to provide the actual transaction reference as well as posted reference. But nothing is impossible šŸ™‚
