      Dynamics AX 2012 R3, cu12

We have a workflow set up for vendor requests and approvals.Ā

On occasion, a request will be stranded in Procurement and sourcing > Common > Vendor requests > Vendor requests pending approval, due to insufficient permissions for the requester or approver.Ā  Even if I go back and add the missing permissions, drill down into the pending request through Actions >Ā View history and Refresh the request, the request can’t be approved, denied or deleted.

Any suggestions on how to get around this?Ā  I would like to delete these, since another request is usually submitted that has the correct users on it to allow it to progress through the workflow properly.Ā  Right now they just accumulate in the pending screen, making it appear that there is more work to accomplish than there really is.

      Thank you.

      Hi Mark,

Have you checked the Workflow History form if they are in an error state? If so, you can recall the workflow or try to resume them. To get rid of the obsolete ones, you can recall the workflow and then you should be able to delete the pending vendor. You have to wait until the workflow message processing did pick up your request for the resume or recall action.

I can recall the request, but the Delete button is still grayed out, even after waiting for the batch job to run to update the request and Refreshing the form.

      Hi Mark,

The status of the request is still ‘Application pending approval’. Did you check if the workflow task itself is really completed? If so, there might be a bug causing the status not being reset.

If I View history and then Recall, It shows the status as Canceled.Ā  I can Refresh the Workflow history form or close that form and Refresh the Prospective vendor profile form but still no option to Delete.

If instead of Recalling, I address any error message, such as giving the user the permissions that were previously removed from them, and then Resume the workflow, it gives a different error:
      “5/15/2019 03:57:37 pm:
Stopped (error): X++ Exception: Failed to create a session; confirm that the user has the proper privileges to log on to Microsoft Dynamics.
      at”.

That makes no sense.Ā  I have admin privileges, the user that submitted the original vendor request is still enabled and has permissions still to submit requests, all users in the user group to approve those requests have the correct permissions, and the AP Analyst Sr users still have their permissions.Ā  I don’t know what user it is talking about in that error.Ā  And, still a grayed out Delete icon.
