We are on AX 2012 R3 cu12.Ā I am having difficulty finding the logic/rules for the customer pool selection criteria.
I believe that AX uses AND statements between each field added to the selection criteria, but am not sure how it treats different values within a single field.
For example, if I add the Customers table, Classification group field, with the values “!11,!12,!26,16”, how does AX treat the excludes and includes in that same row?Ā Does it matter if the excludes are in one row and the includes added in a separate row?Ā Are includes and excludes allowed in any field or just some fields?
I can’t really find answers to this anywhere an appreciate any help.Ā I need to understand properly how the logic in the selection criteria work so I can advise our Credit & Collections team members accordingly.Ā Some of their criteria today are not providing the expected results.
Thank you.

Hi Mark,
I would imagine we still have the ability to trace the SQL statements being passed to the DB with CU12?
IIRC, In Tools -> Options there was/is a SQL tab where we could enable/disable different types of traces.Ā You can view the SQL statements in a window if I remember, you can/could also view the trace statements in a SysTraceSQL table.
That always showed us exactly what was being received at the SQL engine.Ā It has been years but that is how I remember looking up the SQL skirt.
