We are trying set up 1 item for CTP to see how it works.  We cannot get past the following message when the do a ‘simulate delivery date’ on the ‘delivery’ tab of the sales order line.  Realizing CTP set up requires many areas that need touched, it may be best to private message to help resolve.  Here is what has us hung up:

We are also a manufacture to order facility (we make forklifts) and until this post we didn’t know CTP was built into AX 2012. 
In the past we have scheduled based on general scheduling rules and on item lead time alone, and not taking actual current inventory or supply into account. 
We have started an initiative to implement CTP but so far we’re doing it manually, one order at a time by exploding the BOM and comparing it to on hand and usage. 

I’m going to follow your path here and hopefully learn some tips.
