In AX 2012 R3, we have multiple companies which report their VAT under the same Tax registration number.  Is it possible to configure the system to provide consolidated VAT reporting for more than one company?

there isn’t “out of the box” functionality for consolidating VAT reporting from multiple companies.

My guidance would be to keep the exact same VAT configuration between the companies (most importantly, same set of VAT codes, linked to the same Ledger Settlement Groups.

That way you can run your VAT payment report in all companies (which give you total per VAT code) and then just simply add up the numbers together for the purpose of reporting.

It would help to give you more detailed answer to know what country you are doing this filing.
Also, are the different AX companies really separate legal entities? what is the reason they can file VAT together?

Hi,
Unfortunately, there is no consolidated VAT report available and many partner companies build them for their customers.
At least this is what I see in central Europe.
Those adjustments often take the form that IC tax postings are made and that an interface of the consolidated VAT report to the tax authority is created.
Such kind of adjustments are complex and require some time to implement.
You might, however, be able to find a partner company that already developed such a report and might be able to buy it from them.
Probably talk with MS and/or your implementation partner whether they have such a customized solution available.
