We are working on a D365 implementation and need to extract data from our Concur T&E system for posting in D365 as a general journal.  Concur is pointing us to their standard SAE file but is bulking at a customized file format that will load seamlessly into D365.  I am a bit surprised at this given the customer base of both systems.

Has anyone done something like this?

Hi Mark.  aren’t on D365 yet, but we did get a custom extract for Concur for AX2012 R3.  It took a bit of back and forth to get the file in the exact format we needed, and of course it was billable work on the Concur side.  There is still some manual effort for our staff to fill in the journal and voucher numbers, but it’s in the standard AX GL format.

Thanks for the response.  Concur is willing to provide a customized SAE, however they seem to be balking at the main account, financial dimension concatenation required by the general journal entity.  I’m not sure why this would be a showstopper and we can certainly massage the SAE into the proper format, but my goal is to fully automate the import.

We have 10 financial dimensions and the general journal data entity requires a placeholder for each financial dimension

Did Concur’s customization provide a concatenated account number (example 69000-APCO-SALES——–).

In our Atlas sheet that we import we have a column for each FD. We review and make sure it is right and is easy to change

Yes, they did concatenate the number for us, but we only used main account, legal entity and department for the expense reports. They don’t have to worry about our financial dimensions.  I am working with them now on the fact that different legal entities use different main accounts for the same expense types, and they are struggling with it.  I will be interested to see if you find a way to fully automate it.  We have each employee set up as a vendor, so we are manually updating the voucher number manually to make it unique.

We are also in the process of looking at an integration between Concur and D365. I think there may be a partner that integrates with AX and need to adjust for D365.

JUST finished a Concur T&E import implementation for AX2009. The standard SAE extract has too many columns for excel to deal with and has duplicate column titles, and xml was not an extract format option. So we’re using and Excel import that I customized.
There is a standard utility on the Concur site that allows you to select which columns are allowed in your extract. I think we needed maybe 15 columns, but retained more for informational purposes. No extra charge.

We integrated the concur output into AX using
1 – we formatted the output from concur to as close as we could get – the concur sells it as perfect for any integration – not even close
2 – created a small program to reformat that file into one that used an atlase vendor import with project lines
3 – Use atlas to import into general journal and AP at the same time (we don’t use the concur payment system) I
