Hello….Our security officers are requesting that we change all of our AX service account passwords. I know that these passwords were used and embedded during the installation/configuration of AX. Is there a documented procedure on how to safely change these passwords, without bringing the entire application to a halt!?
Thanks.

Elaine, The short and sweet of it is change the passwords in active directory and then update all the services that use those accounts (AOS, SSRS, etc.). There is not a place within the AX configuration that these passwords are stored, it is at the service level. If you use the BCP account for any integrations, those integrations would need to be updated as well. Also, keep in mind any integrated products that use a service account like Management Reporter. You would enter the username and password within the data mart integration as well and you don’t want that to fail.
Changing passwords on service accounts can be a real pain. Do you have separate service accounts set up in your test environment? You could always try to change it there and see what happens.
