      Hey AXperts!

We are on AX 2012 RTM. Ā

We are approaching the end of our FY this month.
We use purchase requisition workflows and budget approvals.
We have one account number which, when reviewed using Actual vs. Budget or Budget Funds Available has plenty of funds to cover a purchase. Ā BUT, it is consistently flagged as not having enough money when we push it thru budget approvals on the req.
I should also mention that the req is in JPY and our budget is in USD.

I know there can be many questions…but I appreciate any feedback.

      Thank you!!!!

If you are using budget control (which I assume you are if you are getting messages), use the budget control inquiry window to identify the actual funds remaining. Ā The budget analysis and budget versus actual both include only posted transactions – remember that the budget control will actually only show the dimensions you are controlling. Ā It’s not the easiest window but I have found that it does work. Ā I would guess that you may have some drafts that are holding budget as that’s the most common scenario. Ā The multi-currency should not make a difference as budget control is always done in the base currency of the company – assuming your exchange rates and such are in there properly, it should be just translating and then checking.

However, as Ludwig mentioned, you should also see about hot fixes – this was the first release of the budget control process (it didn’t exist prior to AX 2012) and having worked with it in RTM, there were a few things that were fixed after that.Ā

Another thing to confirm is to ensure in Financial Distributions screen for PR that the account you expect is showing up there. It could be related to posting profile being used by your PR line.

      ?Hi Lori,
There can be many reasons why AX behaves the way you describe.
What comes to my mind are budget thresholds that are set to less than 100% of the budgeted amount.
Then you also have to check your JPY-USD Exchange rate and whether considerable changes in the rate used for budgeting and recording actual amounts cause this issue.
Another thing to check are available hotfixes as you run on the RTM version.
      Best regards,
      Ludwig
