In a Brazil legal entity, AX seems to have a fixed list of valid Modes of Delivery to only allow numeric values 0 – 9, that already have set meanings.  There is a dropdown list on the Mode of delivery field when you’re in the Setup screen (Sales and Marketing/Setup/Distribution/Modes of delivery).  We also tried uploading  other values using Excel Add-in, and we were stopped with the error “The value in field Mode of Delivery is invalid.  Error found when validating record.  Creation has been canceled.”

We went live with Brazil on January 1, 2017 and we are on CU8 with numerous hotfixes and customizations Right now we have a lengthy list of modes of delivery in our Brazil legal entity.  The only way we think they could have gotten there is that perhaps when the legal entity was first created, our consultants used a MS tool to clone the configuration from another legal entity; one that bypassed the audit.   We’ve been using these non-numeric values for Mode of Delivery successfully since go live.  Our tax/fiscal and logistics folks in Brazil say that these are legal and present no issue with the Nota Fiscal processing.

So now that we want to add another one, we are stuck for how to put in this configuration.   Does anyone know:
1) Why does Brazil have this restriction in AX for Mode of Delivery 0 – 9?
2) How could we load the configuration of a new one to bypass the audit?
