Best approach for Property Management scenarios in Dynamics 365?

  • Best approach for Property Management scenarios in Dynamics 365?

For organizations managing multiple real estate assets or rental portfolios, what is the usual approach in Dynamics 365 F&O?

Is it better to build custom extensions or use industry-specific solutions for handling lease management, tenant billing, and operational workflows?

Looking to understand how others are approaching this architecture.

Good question, this is something a lot of teams struggle with when moving into Dynamics 365 F&O for real estate.

From what I’ve seen, going fully custom usually works in the short term but becomes difficult to maintain and scale, especially as lease structures and reporting requirements get more complex.

Most organizations end up taking a hybrid approach. They use the core capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations for financials and then layer industry-specific solutions on top for lease management, tenant billing, and property operations.

This is where solutions like Dynamic Netsoft come into play. They’re built specifically for real estate on top of Dynamics, which reduces the need for heavy customization and helps standardize processes from the start.

In the long run, this approach tends to be more scalable and easier to maintain compared to building everything from scratch.
