    How can I automatically assign leads to sales reps in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales based on territory or product interest?

    Hi everyone, I’m currently setting up lead management in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales and want to streamline the process of assigning leads. Ideally, I’d like leads to be automatically routed to specific sales reps based on either:

  • Their geographic territory (e.g., region or country), or

  • The product/service the lead is interested in.

  • Is there a native way to do this within Dynamics 365 Sales, or would I need to use Power Automate or a custom workflow? Any best practices or examples would be really helpful.

      We maintain a custom “assignment” table (via integration) that includes key data used to assign to the right sales rep. For us, this includes zip code, business unit, sales channel, and Sales rep. We have a number of FLOWs that are kicked off when a new lead is created in our system to update data, assign the lead and notify the owner. The assignment FLOW looks at this custom table to find who the correct sales rep should be and then updates the owner.
