Tribute to Bob Bergman
Posted by 6575470 on November 28, 2018 at 3:55 pm-
This morning I learned Bob Bergman passed away yesterday after a very short stay in the hospital. I unfortunately have no further details or information on his family, but will add those details as I’m able to. I’m still a bit in shock but am posting as I thought many would want to know.
I so thoroughly enjoyed working with Bob – he “got” community, and loved sharing his expertise to help people do better, especially if he could help them get to that “ah-hah” moment with costing. He was a kind and gentle professional, and was always eager to help. Judging by the posts I’ve seen, he had many, many caring friends around the world.Ā
I encourage others who knew him to reply with your comments so that we may share this tribute with his family.

?I’m still trying to process this sad news.Ā Bob Bergman was one of the first “Navision” consultants I worked with.Ā He was such a great help to our company and I learned so much from Bob over the years.Ā I think I’ve seen him just about every year in many different cities at conferences since we first met in 2005.Ā I always looked forward to Microsoft Convergence, NAVUG Forum, NAVUG Summit, and NAVUG Focus, knowing that my friend Bob would be there to say hello and share NAV stories and information.Ā Bob was always there to share information and knowledge with everyone in the Dynamics NAV community.Ā He was an important member of our NAV/BC family and he will be missed.Ā RIP Bob.

I am very sad to hear of Bob’s passing. He was a lovely guy , enthusiastic, particularly in his passion to help other understand in their struggles with software. His was one of the first voices I had sought out to help me understand the challenge that NAV costing is. He was always free with his time with people at Convergence, Summit, Focus. Once you meet him he would always remember those he had meet and helped with warmth and a smile.
He will be missed.

I had the pleasure to work with Bob during our first conversion to NAV 4 many years ago. He had so much manufacturing knowledge and a great ability to share that with users on all levels. Bob is one of those people that, even though you didn’t know him very well, you will always remember who he was.——————————

The first NAVUG Forum session I attended was with Bob Bergman and Tom Blaisdell.Ā Bob was very energetic and spoke about NAV manufacturing with such passion and enthusiasm.Ā I attended almost all of his sessions and had fantastic take a ways from my time in Tampa.Ā My favorite take a way was Bob saying “Let the computer do it for you!” while he shook his hands in the air enthusiastically.Bob will be greatly missed, may he rest in peace…

When I worked at Medifast we called Bob “The Wiz”. He reminded us of a wizard with his wild hair and quiet demeanor. He was a wizard for us, helped us fix our inventory, and our Manufacturing. I learnt more about NAV from Bob than I ever can tell, he taught me how to analyze in NAV, and because of him, I am a NAV Consultant who knows how NAV thinks and processes data. I can’t express in words how much he meant to me personally, and professionally. What a great, knowledgeable man!
I will miss him, and I know our NAV community will miss him, he is one of the greats!!
Go in peace Bob, may it always be sunny where you are.——————————

I met Bob quite a few years ago when we were co-presenters. Not only was Bob an incredible resource for NAV, but all ERP and manufacturing principles. And he sure was a storyteller! And a great one at that! He opened my eyes to realize my way wasn’t the only way. And for that I will be ever grateful. My thoughts and prayers for his family and our community. He will be missed.

What sad news and what a loss for our community! Bob may have been a NAV (or as Bob would say, “Navision”) manufacturing/costing/general guru, but to me, he was, first and foremost, a teacher. I learned so much from him over the years. I’m grateful for the time I spent with him over the years and thankful I got to spend a few minutes catching up with him last month in Phoenix. I will miss Bob and his NAV T-accounts.——————————

I worked with bob for over 10 years when we work at Tectura. I worked on many projects with him. He was a great person, a mentor and a friend. I will dearly miss him.Ā We worked on many projects that were caused by bad implementations we were sent to the rescue. In those stressful moments, he would find time to lightened the mood. I will miss him for his stories he would tell. I will miss his facebook posts.Ā I saw him at phoenix last month and i’m glad I did. 4 years ago we were on project and he asked me where the “rounding precision”Ā was used in NAV (in consumption journal). And in phoenix 4 years later he reminded me in session when the speaker miss-defined the field.Ā I will miss him as a colleague who I can bounce off ideas.Ā Rest in peace Bob.——————————

I have known Bob Bergman for so many years now. Bob will be missed greatly. I will always remember his passion! It was such a joy to watch him as he presented with so much energy and zeal, and his ability to tell a story and weave the story into his teaching was so wonderful to see..The experience and knowledge he possessed was only exceeded by his desire to share it with others.Ā What a tremendous person, mentor, and friend!——————————

I had the pleasure of attending Bob’s sessions at NAVUG over the years and to me Bob was the bar you measured yourself against when it came to Manufacturing and Costing NAV knowledge. He always found time to coach, teach and provide insight whenever we crossed paths. We all will miss Bob and his stories and Summit will be without a true All-Star. Those of us who have spent time with him were fortunate.——————————

I remember both his big knowledge and his kind attitude. I had the privilege of being in one of his Academy courses last year, I knew nothing about NAV and his presentations were clear and easy to follow. He was very attentive and great at his work. He will be missed.——————————

?I am so sorry. I just saw this.
I have known Bob many years, I worked with him on and off on various projects since his times at Tectura. Then at ArcherPoint. Stayed in touch after that.Ā We both lived in Ann Arbor, MI for a long time. He was very attached to his house. Especially because he lived there with his wife of many years and he lost her there a while ago. They did not have any children. We had a special connection mixed with warm friendship and passionate professionalism. I loved his wit and wisdom. He was very special to me and many others. He wasĀ very dear to NAV community. We lost a precious colleague. I can see that he will be remembered for years to come.——————————
