      Good morning –Ā

In NAV 2013 R2 we have a Transfer Order scenario that occasional comes up where a user will split ship/receive one line on the ITO, then at some later date, decide the second line is no longer required, and delete the line from the transfer order.Ā

We are left with a transfer order where all lines are shipped and received, but obviously the transfer order remains not deleted. Normal behavior would be for the order to be deleted after the last line is received, but in this state, that code will not be called again.Ā

I am thinking of two possible solutions, but just wondering if anyone can think of any issues with these, or can suggest if one is more ‘correct’ that the other?Ā

      1. Simpy delete the transfer order – from a data-integrity point-of-view, is this all that is happening after the last line is received? Is there anything else to consider before deleting the transfer order?Ā

      2. Add a ‘dummy’ item to the transfer order then ship and receive it to allow the transfer order to be deleted after the final line is received. I believe we used to be able to do this with a Resource, but if all we can transfer is Items, I would be hesitant to create false item ledger entries just to delete a transfer order.Ā

Any opinions on the above or alternative suggestions are most welcome – thank you!

?If the remaining line on the Transfer Order has not been shipped, you should be able to delete the Transfer Order (you may need to delete the item off of the order first).Ā  If it has been shipped, it must be received to complete the transfer order.

Unfortunately, while NAV does have utilities to delete fully invoice SO, PO, etc., it does not have a utility to delete fully shipped and received transfer orders.Ā  In my opinion, the best option is the first you listed in just deleting the transfer order.Ā  Theoretically, the user who is deleting the unused line knows that the rest of the transfer order is complete and can just delete the transfer order at that time.Ā  Option 2 is not desirable as it just adds more entries to the system which are not needed.?
