Microsoft has released a plan that allows you to make monthly payments instead of the usual single large annual payment.Ā Ā  Spreading out payments should help those companies struggling with cash flow.
Many thanks to Donavan Lane with Innovia Consulting who first notified us of this offer.

      Here’s a few key notes:

      • Your monthly cost will be equal to your Annual cost divided by 12. (No additional costs!)
      • You must have an On-Prem Microsoft license and be current* on Annual Enhancement
      • There is some confusing license management that makes this possible, but these are the important things that I think most users will be concerned about:
        • You will not pay any extra
        • At the end of the promotion you can choose to either keep your On-Prem license and go back to paying annually, or switch to the cloud and continue to pay monthly.
        • If you expect to go to the cloud in the next couple years, then this offer is even more beneficial for you: You can get up to 4x more cloud licenses than you currently have for $0 additional cost for the length of this promotion so long as you request them within 60 days from joining this promotion.
        • There is some gray area when it comes to buying more on-prem licenses while on the promotion-sounds like it’s possible, but might cost more.
      • Even though you are switching to monthly payments, you must pay all 12 payments or you are considered lapsed.

For more details, I recommend talking to your partner, or checking out this blog post that Innovia just put out today with more details about this.

*Lapsed Exception: Microsoft is allowing exceptions for customers who lapsed between January 1, 2020 and May 31, 2020

Thanks for posting this. I just barely caught our AP people. We were just about to pay the annual fee. In these trying times, cash flow is King.
