We use SPS’s online EDI portal to collect many small orders and then (manually) rekey them into BC/14 On Prem.Ā  Then, we “rekey” the outcome of the “picking and invoicing process”Ā  *back* into SPS’s portal to communicate back to a very large customer.

Question:Ā  Is there an SPS “connector” that we need to buy?Ā  (Be great to be able to pull up a list of customer orders in BC, approve each one, get them picked and invoiced, then sent back via ASN to customer – without keying everything twice.)

Considering a Lanham/EDI project.Ā  We use their Lanham/Eship, which is a good, stable product for us.

How has anyone else that is BC 14 On Prem successfully managed this?

      Thanks,

      -Kevin

      Hello Kevin,

We’re on BC14 on prem and have been using Lanham EDI for many years.Ā  It works very well and is fully integrated with BC, so no keypunching of orders, etc.Ā  There is a considerable amount of technical knowledge required for setup and mapping, so someone on staff will need to learn the product and how to setup and maintain it unless you want to hire your BC partner or Lanham Services to do that for you.Ā  Once everything is set up and mapped, there is little technical knowledge required unless something changes (new EDI partner, new EDi document, mapping change, etc.)

      Kevin,

SPS also has a connector to your question, reach out to your partner or your SPS contact and they should be able to help you look at that option as well. Then you don’t have much remapping to do for your partners just mapping from the system to the portal via their connector. (Lanham is a fine product as well but I’d generally say if you are already connected via SPS go their connector route rather than remap).

We have several customers that use EDI with SPS and have an integration built that sends and receives the transactions to and from BC and the portal. This integration was created directly by SPS. You might want to get hold of your NAV/BC partner about contacting SPS to do this.

The integration works pretty well based on feedback I’ve got from the customers.

      Thanks,
      Devraj
