We have NAV2018 interfaced with EasyShip software for processing FedEx and UPS shipments. We have noticed a random error in the posted shipment qty. two examples: 1) the sales order line is for an item with a base qty of each. the line is for a qty of 3 ea and 3ea are allocated, but when it posts it posts a qty of 2 and creates a new line with a qty to be shipped of 1. even though the item tracking or allocation was not changed prior to posting.Ā  If originally the allocated line was for something that had a base unit of measure of 1 but also a case qty of 10/ case, and the line was for 1 case; it will post in a fraction – so if 1 case was allocated to the line, it will post 0.9 cases and create a new line for 0.1 case

Has anyone experienced this? We wonder if it has anything to do with changes made to a pick that was already printed and then subsequently changed and reprinted? I am not sure this is it because our pick report is a report and not an actual pick list/instruction that has warehouse functionality.Ā

      Thanks for any insightĀ

      Hi Jeanmarie,Ā

Without being able to investigate in your system it’s hard to say but typically if you post a shipment and the setup allows partial shipping, and prevents negative inventory, it will only post what you have in stock based on the sales line information, or shipment or pick line if you are using either of those.Ā

Did you confirm you actually had enough stock (3) in the location/bin indicated the line? Were their reservations for the item in question?

Another thing to confirm (again—not sure if this is applicable b/c I don’t know your setup) — did the qty in the item ledger and bin contents match for the item/variant/location? Sometimes these two can get out of sync — specifically in environments where you have advanced warehousing turned on and the WLE and the ILE get updated separately.

Hi Roxanne-thank you for your reply. I am sorry I didnt see it until just now. We have enough material at the time of allocation and there are not reservations on the material . That is a good point to check the item /bin content mismatch and I will check this the next time it occurs .Ā
      Thanks
