How can I get consumption and Output lines on my production journal. Right now all I see is Output entries not component consumption. I see the components just not in the production journal. I want to post consumption/time and output from one place the production journal.

Hi Roland – I’ve seen where the component lines do not populate the production journal when you do not have the production bom field filled in with the link to the bom number on the finished good item number. In my example below the production bom no field is blank when it should be filled in. Any chance that is the issue? I’m guessing no since you say you can see the components but wanted to confirm.

Are the components set to manual flushing method or backflushed? If backflushed then you would see in components list but not in the production journal since they would be consumed upon changing status to fiinished.

In the production order, if you click on the production order line and choose components, do you see the components?Ā  If not, you need to ‘refresh’ the production. There is a specific button, see screenshot.. Executing this builds the production order components information that is used to populate your production journal.

I see my components but they don’t show consumption entry type on the production journal. I have refreshed the production order and it still doesn’t work. i can post the components on the consumption journal but I was told they both should show up on the production journal.

So in other words you can “calculate consumption” in the consumption journal and the lines pull in fine but you cannot see these lines in the production journal. Any chance you have a hidden filter in the production journal that is hiding the consumption entries like below?

your first sentence is correct. I don’t have any filters on the production journal.

      Roland,

Try changing the Flushing Method Filter on the Production Journal to “All Methods.” Do you see the lines now? I can seeion your screen shot this is set to Manual (which makes sense) but curious to see if removed, the consumption rows become visible.

I changed to “All Methods” and still only showed Output entry types no consumption. If I go to the Consumption Journal and call the order and calculate the BOM show up.

Here is my whole process: I have two database companies. One has always done Production Order and consumption was and has always been on the production journal. The other database just started production order. I do the same process:

      1. Create on Planning Worksheet
      2. Send to Firm Planned Production Order
      3. Change status to Released Production Order
      4. Make sure BOM & Routings are in the production order
Ā For some reason everything comes over proper but only output shows on Production Journal!

Items will not appear if you have set the consumption to Forward or Backward Flush.

Is this happening for one isolated production order or all orders?
