      ?Hello,
We are working through some permissions with cube reporting. We currently use Jet Essentials.
      We are on NAV 2013R2.
It is looking like the permissions that we have set up in NAV, do not hold to the Jet reporting permissions.
Can someone please confirm that for me?
      Thank you!

      Hello Karen,

This is correct, cube permissions need to be configured separately.

The document I followed is linked below

That document relates to Jet Enterprise.Ā  Karen was asking about Jet Essentials (now Jet Professional).

Karen, if your users are connecting with a Data Source using Dynamics NAV 2013 and later (Web Services) they should just need relevant NAV permissions to read the tables that the reports use.

If they’re connecting with a Data Source using Dynamics NAV 2013 and later (SQL Server) you’ll also need to give them db_datareader on the database in SQL Server.Ā

      This article should help:
      https://jetsupport.jetreports.com/hc/en-us/articles/219402777-Requirements-for-using-the-Dynamics-NAV-SQL-Connector

For Jet-related queries their own support (support.jetreports.com) is obviously a good place to look.Ā  The (very good – IMHO) user community is accessed through that page too.

EDIT:Ā  Somehow, even reading Karen’s question twice I missed the word “cube” and finally spotted it after posting this reply.Ā  Apologies if itĀ was actually the Enterprise Cube side of things you need, Karen.

Cubes are Jet Enterprise and permissions for those are configured in the Jet Project Management software. Ā Jet Professional will use the DB permission however also requires a license to write reports.Ā

Their Support is top notch if your still having issues.Ā
