ON PREM TO SAAS

I am having a difficult time trying to find anyone that has gone from On Prem To SaaS. Anyone have that experience? It seems that all of the development is going to SaaS, which makes sense, but I am really wanting to get someone’s experience with the switch…Pro’s, Con’s and challenges. Going forward, all of the bells and whistles will be in the SaaS version and getting them on Prem will be increasingly difficult and expensive. Just a few challenges we are currently having (and will have to pay a 3rd party to figure out) are Edit in Excel, Outlook plugin and B2B ecommerce. Would love to hear your thoughts!

There are a lot of partners on here that could help you out. ArcherPoint helped us get SSO/Edit in Excel configured for our on-prem BC environment, and I’d highly recommend them.

We don’t utilize the Outlook features for BC, so I can’t speak to that.

I did a Channel Sales Manager (CSM) demo, and we were impressed with it. We utilize Shopify for our B2B and Direct to Consumer sites, and this application could do everything we want and works with BC OnPrem. I wanted to try the native Shopify/BC experience that you mentioned, but it’s been stated that it will exclusively be in the SaaS version.

If you can post where you are getting stuck in the Edit in Excel setup, I’d be happy to try and help you figure it out.

We helped 3-4 customers more from on-prem to cloud last fall. We do a test conversion, then work with client staff for testing, once client is comfortable we do the live conversion. Clients have been super pleased, most came from an older version of NAV to the latest BC version.
