Newbie – Need help understanding Notifications on Released Production Orders
Hi All,
I just joined today and am looking for advice on notifying different Work Centers when a Released Production Order is created and their Routing is called upon. We run an Engineered To Order environment and I am curious to discover how everyone is alerting staff to commence work. Do you generally have a computer at each Machine/Work Center that the operator uses? Or has anyone created a PowerApp as a simplified front end for the Factory Workers?
I have never seen BC running correctly in a real environment, so I dont really know what good looks like. Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

There are a wide range of ways this is managed in different companies I have seen over the years and implemented solutions for. Some are using tablets or scanners on the floor that populate with the order or task, sometimes with filters based on types of assignments. Some use sheets or Kanban that travel around. You could use filtered Task lists by Work or Machine Center, a refreshing dashboard on a monitor, a Power App, or Power Automate to send notifications. It’s all very dependent on the type of work being done, the environment, and the process that is most useful to the users without interfering with the workflow or environment.
