?I am trying to understand if their are deferent types of Microsoft Dynamics NAV customer licensing type?

I suspect there is what might be considered as the standard: Licenses are purchased for Dynamics NAV: Starter, Entended Pack and CALs through a Microsoft Dynamics NAV Partner of Record.Ā  What is this type called?

Then there are these types “Standard” which then purchase one or more ISV / Authorized for NAV 3rd party modules / add-on’s etc.Ā  What is this type called?

Then there are something called ISV Embedded Licensed Customer (like a OEM), in which Microsoft Dynamics NAV is really licensed and sold through a Microsoft ISV (with embedded agreement) to a new customer.Ā  What are these called?Ā  The question is for this type of OEM’d customer, what does that mean?Ā  All customers on an enhancement plan have a Partner of Record, but is this ISV embedded customer, exclusively limited to the ISV as always having to be its partner of record?Ā  Also, is any of this, especially the OEM’d type of customer supposed to have this disclosed up front?

Their are two normal user licenses, full users without posting limitations ($3,000 plus BREP) and lite users ($600 plus BREP) who cannot post any thing that touches G/L.

There is also a devise license ($600 plus BREP), licensed to a specific device, like a handheld for warehouse management.

I’m not sure if this has changed, bou also used to have Object Designer license, which gave you access to objects in the 50,000 range, so a limited developer license.

Then there’s the partner’s license (developer’s license), and ISVs have their own licenses, which allows them (and not partners) develop in their own range.

As an end user, you used to be able to buy the object designer, the developer’s license, but not the ISV license.
