We have a drop ship PO that was correctly received in 2 partials and have correctly processed posted purchase receipts. However, the receiving process is supposed to end with the Sales Invoice to the sell-to customer being invoiced.  We can find no such document in our system and it appears that one was never generated.  We’re not sure what failed, but is there any way to regenerate a Sales Invoice for the customer at this point?  Anyone see this before with their systems?

We’ve used drop shipments in NAV 2013R2 and now in 2018.  We’ve always had to post the sales invoice separately.  In our internal process we open the SO and enter the tracking number so when the Purchase Receipt posts the Sales Shipment, the shipment also contains the tracking number.  It sure would be nice if the Purchase Receipt would transfer the tracking info and also post the shipment & invoice, but I fear that would be a modification for a good developer.  And on BC, I have no idea if the mod is possible in an extension.

Mark and Devora,

I too would like to see the Tracking Information pass to the Sales Order/Shipment fields from the PO Receipt. Yes, this is not a hard customization/extension so I would ask your Partner. I also hope one day Microsoft will allow when Post Receive and Post Shipment to auto-process the related Post Shipment with an Invoice automatically.

Thanks. We are using a third-party shipping app to do that.

 

My problem is a missing sales invoice, though. Just does not exist to put anywhere.  Would like to regenerate it if possible. Don’t see a way- message is nothing to post.

Devora,

I think you are stating the field Package Tracking is not shown on the Posted Sales Invoice screen and worse, not editable. Very True but you could ask your Partner to make this field Editable.
