      Hello experts,

We have our NAV2013 environment (SQL Server and Service Tier) setup with windows server 2012 but I need to setup another application service trier for NAV2013 and was wondering if I can setup my VM with windows server 2012 R2. will it cause any compatibility issues with NAV2013 or communication among existing VMs (with windows server 2012).

      Thanks in advance,

      Meenakshi

      Hello Ms. Singh,

It shouldn’t cause any compatibility issue. I’ve ran two service tier separated in two VMs where one was Windows Server 2008 and the other Windows Server 2008 R2 and I didn’t see any issues.

With that in mind, there shouldn’t be any issues with 2012.

Should not be an issue Meenakshi. We have a dozen VMs running different versions of NAV Service Tiers (one for each client), some with multiple service tiers (for Client and Job Queue) all pointing to the same SQL Server.

No issues at all.  We have 10 running (VMWare) on Server 2012R2 and things are great.

Thank you Dave and Anthony. I have decided to go ahead with Server 2012 R2.
