Is itĀ possible to run just MRP (uncheck the MPS box) and have it calculate the demand requirements to include Sales FORECAST along with planned demand and any setups we have for the Reorder Policies?Ā Ā Ā Or do you have to check both boxesĀ (MPS & MRP) for MRP to include the demand for Sales Forecast in the calculations for MRP ?

If you are populating the “Production Forecasts” in NAV (this option is on the Manufacturing Planning menu) and you want to use the forecast as part of your MRP calculation, you would check MPS. If you do not want to include those entries you would uncheck the MPS. If you are not populating the “Production Forecasts”, it really doesn’t matter whether MPS is checked or unchecked.

?Further to Greg’s notes. The Sales Forecast (Item Budget) is different from the Production Forecast. The Production Forecast is where you need to record your forecast to be available to the Planning Worksheet. The Production Forecast is part of your independent demand and will be picked up when you run MPS (Master Production Schedule).

Also to the point of the gentlemen, when running the planning worksheet, “Calculate Plan”Ā you need to ensure you have selected the populated forecast ?in the “Use Forecast” field.
