Can anyone suggest a more efficient way to look at individual tags in inventory as well as items on order or in production on the same screen? Right now I can see a summary of total pounds & whats on order when I’m in the “Items” screen. However, to see info on an individual tag I have to drill down through 2 screens.  Once I drill down to the Lot No. Information List I lose the ability to see whats on order. Ideally I would like to have a screen that shows me individual tag line with the Supply & Demand Fact Boxes on the side.

Chris, when you say ‘tag’ do you mean ‘lot’? And what version on NAV are you running?

To see what’s on order by lot number you will need a customization page/screen.

      I am on NAV 2017.

I guess “lot” and “tag” would be the same. We are a metal distributor and everything in our system is broken down to individual bundles/tags.

      ?Hi Chris

Could you add a flow field to the Lot No. information page to see the supply and demand information?

You’d still have to do the drilling if you don’t want a custom page I believe.

      Hi Chris,

You said in your post “Ideally I would like to have a screen that shows me individual tag line with the Supply & Demand Fact Boxes on the side.” Have you thought of doing it the other way around as this is part of base NAV, though you may have to ask your developer to link it.

There is a factbox (9126 – Lot Numbers By Bin Factbox) that shows the bin content, by lot number for a location.
This would show you all the information for the line you have selected without drilling through if you had it on the item list.

      Many thanks.

Adam has a great suggestion.  If you need to see the Lot information, the fact box is your best bet to avoid drilling down into multiple screens.

If the Lot information was not required, there are add-on products that provide clean Supply & Demand fact boxes to show, and allow access to, the different sources impacting an Item.
