Lanham EDI 856 Item Sequence
On a Lanham EDI with NAV 2018 I need the sequencing of items on 856 to match the sequencing on the 850. How is this best done?
Also, the ASN Ship-Order-Item-Pack wants Item only once but packs individually. I’ve suppressed Ship by bypassing segment if HL Level Code is not blank. Here’s how the 856 should look.

How do I suppress showing the item quantity for each pack?

Map the EDI 850 PO1 element 01 and the EDI 856 LIN element 01 to and “EDI In” field called “Assigned ID”

That’s what I thought, but it’s not working for me on the 856. It does work on the 855 PO1 and 810 on IT1. Screenshots are attached.
Any other ideas perhaps related to Packing Rule which is shipment-order-item-package? I’ve only used shipment-order-package-item in the past.

Can you send a screenshot of your Packing Rule >> ASN fast tab as well as the BOL >> ASN Summary? What is the Lanham version you are on (EDI Setup >> About EDI)?

Thanks, Noreen. Unfortunately for the item sequencing issue E-Ship doesn’t support pack by line – only pack by item. We may have a suggestion for how the summary sorted by the PO line order can be accomplished if you’d like to have your VAR reach out to our support.
For the item summarization issue, the SOIP summary type should automatically summarize the item quantity. How do you have this mapped? Send a screenshot of your segments list (showing the placement of your HL Commands). Also send a screenshot of the BOL >> ASN Summary.

My next move is to look into the Packing Rule Prioritization. I do have an open ticket with our VAR and will have them contact Lanham next week. I believe they’re already away for Memorial Day.
I’m not sure what you mean by BOL>>ASN Summary. Let me know if the attachment is not what you want. FYI, I am using HL Ship with a bypass so it doesn’t populate to the raw file and affect sequencing.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Did you receive any information from our VAR? I was unable to copy you as I don’t have your email. Attached is the 856 which should be LIN*1*SK*021563105254, LIN*2*SK*021563368086, LIN*3**SK*852579006699. That is the sequence of the 850.

I have not heard from your VAR but will need to work with them on the sequencing issue. To address your original request “the ASN Ship-Order-Item-Pack wants Item only once but packs individually” I am seeing that is what’s happening based on the file screenshot you sent. Is there a different way you’re expecting the 856 to look (besides the sequence of items)?

In this instance, it’s showing the items on the 856 out of sequence with the 850. It should be SKU 021563105254, then 0215631368086, then 852579006699.

We have the solution you worked on with our VAR, Margaret. Thank you! Would you please confirm if this is a hotfix that’s applied to all future NAV 2018 updates for Lanham EDI or whether this was a customization.
