We have a perishable food shipping client hoping to use InsightWorks with BC. Anyone have feedback / successful implementations? Crossing my fingers that they might have the opportunity to speak to another BC client with similar WMS / inventory needs.

Warehouse Insight is a decent app. The main thing I like about it is the ability to make a custom app for a particular workflow. Taken completely custom, you can use many things in Business Central (that have nothing to do with warehousing) with a custom app and a small orchestration codeunit.

The negative feedback I’ve gotten about the Warehouse Insight app is the same as most of these WMS apps: the buttons and controls are small without a way to enlarge them. This is primarily an issue in food because of often being in cold storage or a walk-in freezer when doing warehouse operations. This is not a problem in regular-temperature dry storage, of course. (I’ve vaguely considered making a “cold WMS” BC app that had giant, resizable controls you could use with insulated gloves on.)

The best bet for situations like this one, regardless of the WMS used, is to avoid using the screen at all. The goal would be to get scanners with numeric or “functional”/F-numeric keypads so that users never have to touch the screen and have easy access to the functions they need. Warehouse Insight has standard “F-keys” (like F1, F2, etc.) for specific functions, but those can be configured per app as well – for example, F6 to print, F2 to post, etc.
Between barcode scanning and physical keys, users wearing gloves would never have to use the screen to open documents, change quantities, enter lot #’s, post documents, etc.

A good example of this type of scanner is a Honeywell CK65 or CK67 for cold storage, such as: https://tinyurl.com/bdeh776k or a similar non-cold storage version: https://tinyurl.com/2yvpysja
