      Hi, Experts

I am not sure my question allowed here or not.

I am very happy to be here, and I like to get your advice on How to Pass the exam from the 1st time.

I have finished these courses on Microsoft Imagine Academy:

      1. Application Setup in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016

      2. Finance Essentials in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016

      3. Finance Advanced in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016

and I am about to finish

Service Management in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2

next Courses I am going to study also:

1- Inventory Management in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015
      2-
      Warehouse Management in Microsoft Dynamics

I am working on NAV since 2008 (3.61) then on NAV 2009 since 2010.
And I am working on NAV 2016 since 1.5 Years
I really thanks for your support, as I am changing my career from Senior Accountant to be the System Administrator and maybe I can become NAV consultant.

      Mahmoud,

This link will take you to a document that provides links to various resources for preparing for the Core Application Setup Exam.
      https://www.dynamicspro.org/HigherLogic/System/DownloadDocumentFile.ashx?DocumentFileKey=dac259c9-9b1d-53b5-050b-716d9190b8f0&forceDialog=0

Also, NAV Core Application Setup Review has been offered as a Pre-conference Academy Class prior to Summit the last 2 years. I am the instructor and I hope it will be offered again this year. I have received feedback from attendees that it definitely help to prepare them for the exam. Many signed up to take it right at  Summit.

If you haven’t already checked out the exam content, you may find this link helpful in understanding what topic domains are covered by the exams. I found it helpful in narrowing my preparation to only topics most likely covered by the exam.

      Hello, my dears
Due to losing my job I was postponing the exam since long, but today morning I attended the exam and I am blaming my self why I postponed and many questions I know by heart from practising and some from reading articles.

The exam is great and measuring the knowledge of the application.
I hope I will pass it as I got the message says I will get the result after 7 to 10 days.

Thanks to all for your support, If I pass I will plan very soon for the Financial exam as it’s my main position.
I am dreaming one day to move from the accounting & finance positions to NAV/BC consultation.

Thanks again and please enjoy the holidays.

      hi mahmoud,

microsoft has stopped providing product certificates for dynamics nav. instead they provide exams for dynamics 365.
      for that follow https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/dynamics-certification.aspx

on the other hand there are, as cynthia mentioned, exams/certificates, which are provided by dynamicspro/navug. afaik they are similiar to the ms certificates and for sure the exams are not easy. don’t know, if they are widely known/accepted in the industry. best you talk with your employer about that.

      Additional resources for learning:
      – Microsoft Dynamics Learning Portal: Cource Catalogs, Tutorial Videos
      – Msdn Videos: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/bb629407.aspx
      – youtube
      – blog section of nav forums
      – my blog: moxie4nav.wordpress.com

from my experience the most what i learned was from learning by doing, try and error and active participation in nav forums like navug.com, mibuso.com, community.dynamics.com. that’s the best way to become a consultant. a consultant should know the business processes … in detail … and many about what can happen, what are common issues and how to solve them.

      regards

seems that you either need to become a microsoft dynamics partner or you work for a partner. then you can get access.

Dears, Sorry to open this again, actually I ‘m not feeling confident because of many reasons:

      • Re-Pay $150 to retake the exam is difficult for me as it equals to EGP2.7k

      • The exam resources and past exam or mock exam is not available,

      I have a final Question:

is the exam similar to the below?

Some categories of setup data are not included in RapidStart Services because they are too specialized. Which of the following setup data is not created by RapidStart Services?

      1. VAT Business Posting Groups
      2. Dimensions
      3. Countries/Regions
      4. FA Posting Groups

      or

Which of the following credential types is not used in Microsoft Dynamics NAV?

      1. Windows Authentication
      2. Microsoft SQL Server Authentication
      3. Username Authentication
      4. NavUserPassword Authentication

and is it at the same level or in more depth?

      Thanks for all support

      Hi Rich,

When I saw couple of days back, there were 61 members who were credentialed in Nav Core Application exam. Today, I see only 28. Is there a reason for this?
