When we are in the production journal trying to assign item tracking the following error will randomly pop up.

Any solutions?  We are running NAV2016.

When we see that we do one of two things.  We either recompile the object in question (page 5510 in your example) or customize the ribbon (that includes the action you are selecting) and click “Restore Defaults” in the bottom right corner.  That usually fixes it for us.

Dave, do you find that you have to do the second option often? I’m having this problem in several journals and the recompile did not work.

Someone recommended to me that after the recompile, you should stop and restart the service to get the full effect of the recompile.

I’m going to try your second option. Thanks for the response.

This happens rarely and the second option usually solves it for me.  Don’t know if there are other reason why this may be happening.
