So what is everyone using for document imaging with NAV?
We currently use the free version of Zetadocs which works great for PO & SO but I need to be able to attach documents everywhere in the system so I want to hear what others are using and how happy you were with the setup process and the functionality.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can provide.

Hi Liz,We use the paid Zetadocs version. I think they now call it “Capture Essentials”. We are extremely happy with it. Our paperless efforts have pushed us to rely on it more than ever. We attach almost everything to it. The data resides in SharePoint Online. I know that with the newer NAV versions, one can attached documents but I think they are added to the actual database.
Cheers,

Liz,We are using paid as well, Essentials, and are about to upgrade to NAV 2016. If I am reading your question correctly, you can add the
zetadocs functionality to almost any page and/or report, including those provided by your VAR. The only thing to keep in mind is whether the docs will stay with the document as it is posted to another table. For instance, we wanted to add Zetadocs to our production orders to capture additional consumption related information. We need a mod to make sure the documents remain attached from a released production order to a finished production order.
Equisys is very good about facilitating the discussions on how to do that with your developer.
Hope that helps!

Thank you Eduardo & Andy for your feedback and Andy your point about the attachments after posting is a really important fact I didn’t consider.

Liz,To add to the other posts re: the enhanced Zetadocs products, there are Zetadocs products for receipt of inbound documents as well as outbound documents.
Depending on your specific requirements, you may opt for:
- Zetadocs Capture Essentials or Zetadocs Capture Plus
- Zetadocs Delivery Essentials or Zetadocs delivery Plus
Attached is an old data sheet I have on my box on the various versions of the product line.
From what our consulting staff and customers that have installed the apps have voiced, the functionality is very good in each of their products. The only issue we as a NAV Partner have experienced was with older versions of the applications were due to it being a client install as opposed to a server install. This caused our consultants allot of agony getting it to work.
Fortunately, with the newer release of Zetadocs last Summer ( I think it was v8) the issues with the client install have gone away.
If there’s a question as to the ROI for the investment in Zetadocs that you may have to do, I recall there being a neat tool available from the developer Equisys that’s available. (From everything I’ve seen from clients, the ROI is pretty easy to obtain). If you need it, email me at Jeff.Rassie@westerncomputer.com and I’ll hunt it down for you.
