Hi,

I have a question on item revaluation journal in D365 BC.

I have an item picked up where I use Item Revaluation Journal, Calculate Inventory Function.
Select Posting Date
Select per Item Ledger Entry
Select per Location
Select Item Code and click ok.

I receive an error:

Open Outbound Entry 41917 Found (41719 is the entry number)

I visit the item page, select item ledger entries, filter it by the entry number and reach out for that particular entry number and I see that:

There is no remaining quantity but the entry Open Status is shown as YES.

Question is: Why and under what circumstances the item ledger entry has no remaining quantity but it is still shown as OPEN instead of showing OPEN=NO.

Thank you for responding to my query.
May I ask you what is to be checked on Value Ledger Entries for this item ledger entry which is causing the error.
Sorry I cant follow your reply so if you can be a bit more specific (more details) I can share the results with you on that particular value ledger entries for this ILE.

Sure. 

I’m curious if there are some mismatched dates in the VLEs associated to your ILE. You could have several VLEs to one ILE and if a cost adjustment did something odd to give a bad posting date on the VLE, that would help to explain your issue. 

For example, I’ve seen an ILE post to 12/31/21, but the VLE posted to 1/1/22 due to bad posting date ranges in the GL Setup causing the cost adjustments to hit the proper period. 

Also check the “valuation date” field.

Hello Lindsay,

Thank you for sharing a bit more about it as per my request.

I can check VLE related to ILE and see if there is any cost adjustment made with any funny date range in posting date. 
But I am still lost like, item ledger entry has no remaining quantity left as it shows zero but item ledger entry (that particular one) is still shown as OPEN.
I thought when there is no remaining qty for any item ledger entry record, the open field shouldnt be tagged with check mark (it should be Closed).

I’ve seen ILE remain marked as “open” with no remaining qty due to valuation (VLE) date issues. I would check that first and then we can go from there
