Is there any way to code credit memo reasons? I want to be able to select standard reasons why we are crediting an invoice and be able to run reports and search off of this code.

      Can anyone help me?

You may find the Return Reason Code on the Credit Memo or Return Order line will do what you need. If you don’t see the field, Choose Columns to add it then setup codes that specify the reasons for returning items. These can be items that a customer returns to you or items that you return to a vendor.

In addition to setting up the return reason code and its description, you can also specify a special location code where returned items are always placed. Irrespective of where you place a returned item, you can decide with the Inventory Value Zero field how to treat the value of the returned items.

MSDN provides additional information on returns management –

There is also a  “Reason Code” on the header, but it is not shown. You could have your VAR display this field if you wanted the reason code associated with the header rather than the line.
