This is the first time I am posting a question so let me know if you need more information.

I looking for a way to print out or export a report that has all of our BOM exploded and the cost associated with all components.  We are running NAV 2015 Version 8.0 and we are running a FIFO inventory valuation.

      Thanks

Take a look at the “Rolled-up Cost Shares” report. You can search for it or go to Departments/Manufacturing/Costing/Reports. It will show the exploded BOM with item costs and capacity costs. Be aware of the levels to help with the roll up.  For instance, level one lines will roll up to the item cost.  The higher level numbers roll up to their respective parent.

I should also note that the rolled up cost shares is based on the unit cost of the standard BOM.  If you are looking at each production run and the costing of each output, you will need to look at the Prod. Order – Detailed Calc. report for the production order.

I’m getting an error message “The maximum number of BOM levels, 50, was exceeded.  The process stopped at item number FGC001310, BOM header number FGC000046, BOM level 5.”

I tried to copy the error box into the reply but it will not copy.

Assuming that you don’t really have a BOM structure that extends to 50 levels, this error usually occurs when you have looping in your BOM structure.  In other words, item A is consumed to make item B, and item B is used to create item A.  There may be a couple levels in between but the concept is the same.  Check your structure to be sure you’re not consuming an item produced later in the process.

      Hi Mark,

You can do this from the Item Card by running the BOM Cost share distribution report. It can be viewed interactively, or printed.

From the Item card, click on the cost shares action (see picture) , then on the BOM Cost share distribution report. To view the interactive way, click Expand All. Scroll to the right and you will see full breakdown of cost by type.

      Have Fun

HI Mark, try the Rolled-Up Cost Shares report. You can search for it in the Search box, find it on the item card ribbon, or find it using the following path:

Departments–>Manufacturing–>Costing, then look under the Reports and Analysis section.
